Host a Blood Drive

If you choose to partner with the Red Cross, you will play an extremely important role in the collection of blood.  You will motivate your members to participate in this most important effort, and will provide opportunities for other to demonstrate their leadership skills.  All the while, we will work with your organization side-by-side to make your participation as easy as possible.

To facilitate a blood drive, your group would appoint a blood drive coordinator who would be your point person for working with the Red Cross.  Primarily, the coordinator is responsible for ensuring that space and tables and chairs are available, for promoting the blood drive and for recruiting volunteers to help during the event.

In advance of the blood drive, our Red Cross representative will lead your coordination in the processes of recruiting donors, scheduling appointments and issuing publicity.  We will provide promotional posters, appointment reminder cards, telerecruiting of donors and email templates for sending correspondence to your members.

On the day of the drive, we set up everything that is needed for blood donation, while your coordinator helps to ease the flow of donors through the donation process.  It is truly a mutually beneficial partnership that provides great rewards to the organizations that choose to participate.
