Volunteer Opportunities
Each year over one million Americans serve as
Red Cross volunteers serving local community needs — helping people in emergencies, providing half the nation's blood supply, teaching first aid and CPR courses, delivering emergency messages to
members of the military, organizing programs
for the elderly, for the youth...
Disaster Action Team Member:
Respond to natural or man-made disasters. No experience necessary. Free training. Must be a compassionate and a good team player.
Disaster Services Nurses:
Give emergency and preventative health services to disaster victims. All Health Service personnel must have a current license. May work on call to provide consultation by telephone.
Health & Safety Instructors:
Teach First Aid/CPR/AED classes or babysitter training classes to community members. Night & weekend hours. Training provided. Good communication skills a must.
Blood Drive Volunteer:
Assist with blood drive registration and refreshments. Compassion and good people skils a plus.
Office Aide:
Help with data entry, mailings and other general office support. Experience is a plus. Telephone skills and detail oriented.
Community Disaster Education Presenter:
Provide education to schools, and community groups to prevent and prepare for and respond to emergencies. Good communication skills needed.
Health Screening Volunteer:
RN, LPN, EMT, Student Nurses to assist at health screening clinics with blood pressure checks.
Board & Committee Members:
Serve on the Board of Directors or one of the various committees including, Service Delivery, Armed Forces Emergency Services, Health & Safety, Financial Development, Human Resources, Audit, Facilities & Technology, Finance, or Blood Services.
